Dos Box The emulator All off you have tried to play some of the DOS old games on a Windows Xp machine with any kind of sucess. Well those days where over with the creation of DosBox.
First thing, you probably need to download and install it. Here is a
dosbox download link. After installing run the Dosbox, a window should appear like the following:
I know it might bring some memories, but before doing anything, you must mount an Virtual Drive on the Dosbox. Because DosBox only needs your game or old programs directory, you need to point it to the directory you want. In the following example, i have putted all my games in a folder called mroldgames. And i used the following command
mount c: d:\mroldgames. The first c: is the virtual drive i want to create.
After entering the hard drive , you should use the normal DOS commands. Like dir (to check the files and directories inside the directory your in), CD (is a command used to switch directories),etc..
Let see if we can run Sensible Soccer, i have the game in the SS folder.
Ok, it is running but it is a bit slow while loading. Has you can see i am going to use the ctrl+f8 to accelarate the emulation. If the game is running quite fast, use the ctrl+f12 to lower the Cpu speed.
And there you have it, the game is running. Don't forget to setup the games before starting. If you have any question use the forum threads.
See you all,
Mr.Oldgames
